Μεγάλη Πέμπτη βάφουνται σύμφωνα με την παράδοση τα κόκκινα αυγά, τα οποία θα τσουγκρίσουνται μετά την Ανάσταση. Το παραδοσιακό βάψιμο το αυγών γίνεται με φυσικά υλικά όπως είναι τα κρεμμυδόφυλλα ή το Λιζάρι (ρίζες από διάφορα φυτά που υπάρχουν στην κοινότητα).

Τα τελευταία χρόνια η τάση είναι τα αυγά να βάφονται σε διάφορα χρώματα και να στολίζονται με ποικίλα σχέδια και τεχνοτροπίες.

Dying eggs red in anticipation of Greek Othodox Easter is one of the oldest and most beloved traditions. Traditionally, families across Greece & Cyprus dye eggs red on Holy Thursday.
It can be done with natural products such as onion leaves or Lizari (roots from various plants that exist in the community). These days, we dye eggs in different colors and decorate them with various designs and styles.
